Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Jennifer L Armentrout strikes again! This author is quickly becoming one of my favourites and I’ve only read 3 of her books so far, such is the greatness of her stories and characters.

Onyx, the eagerly anticipated sequel to Obsidian is, without a doubt, one of the best YA books I’ve ever read. Ever! I did not think that it would be able to repeat the greatness of Obsidian but not only does it repeat it, it surpasses it by miles!

Everything that was good about Obsidian got heightened ten fold in Onyx. The storyline, the characters, the romance, the ass kicking aliens, the twists and turns, the dramatic ending… everything! I loved it.

I don’t want to spoil the storyline of Obsidian if you haven’t read it already (and if you haven’t, then what is wrong with you!) but Onyx picks up about 3 days after the events of Obsidian. Thereafter ensue more alien-y (that is sooo a word) mysteries, fights, misunderstandings and SUPER hot Daemon kissing scenes than I would not have thought possible to cram into one medium sized book. The storyline is fresh and interesting, the romance is steamy, swoonworthy and exciting and the world building and character development is first class.

The ending was a bit of a shocker. No big evil cliff hanger (thank goodness). But enough of a ‘gasp-worthy’ moment to leave me counting down the days until the release of book 3. I thought it was very clever to finish the book there and only adds to the ever building awesomeness of this series in general.

What else is there to say? I feel like I can’t really coherently put into words why this series is so fantastic. If you’ve read these, then you know the appeal they hold, and why they are so ‘un put down-able’. If you have not read them then I really REALLY advise that you do.. before you read anything else, make this series your priority!
