Debbie’s Top 5 US Authors

blogoversaryday8-01

Rainbow Rowell

When I first picked up Attachments, I knew nothing about it or the author. Fast forward to Fangirl, and it was one of my most anticipated books of this year. She has quickly become one of my favourite authors as her books just have all the feels I ever want to experience from writing.

David Levithan
Although he has been writing for years, he is an author that I’ve only discovered recently. His writing is just so packed with emotion that I find myself post-sticking lots of quotes in his novels. I’m thrilled that some of his earlier books are getting republished here, as it shows that I’m not the only one who has stumbled upon his writing lately.

Cora Carmack
As one of the first NA books Ive ever read, Losing It didn’t really have anything to live up to. However, its quickly become the bar for which I compare all other NA books against. It was awesome to be able to meet her earlier this year, and she was as funny and genuine as she comes across in the books. Definitely on my auto buy list!

Jodi Picoult

The only adult fiction author on my list, her books always leave me speechless and never neglects to tug on my heartstrings. Indeed, one of the only adult writers which I would love to meet, and I’m always scouring her website for future releases.

Lauren Oliver
Lauren deservedly has a place on my list for first introducing me into YA dystopian. I loved Delirium so much I even shared it with my mum; something which I don’t do often enough. I’m so grateful she made the effort to visit the UK this year, and so excited to read Panic and see what else she has in store!

Cass’s Top 5 UK Authors

blogoversaryday8-02

I don’t have 5 UK authors though, may I do Australian as well?

Carol Rifka Brunt
Her debut Tell the Wolves I’m Home was a wonderfully realistic story about sisters, love, and unlikely friendships.

JoJo Moyes
I am pretty sure I’m obsessed with JoJo’s Me Before You. To put it simply: I read it February 2013, and I still think of its characters, Lou & Will on a fairly regular basis.

Laura Buzo
Oh my! Miss Buzo gave me a wonderfully hypnotic tale with her novel, Love & Other Perishable Items. I hope to get the chance to read more from her soon!

Hannah Kent
Burial Rites came out only about a month ago, but it sure made a splash! I personally don’t enjoy historical fiction, but Miss Kent changed my mind. I absolutely LOVED this book and I will not stop telling EVERYONE to give it a go! This book alone but Kent on my auto-buy list!

Sadly, I don’t have a #5! This is your space to fill – tell me a superb UK author I am missing out on and I will go seek out their work!

Sarra Manning
Sarra writes both adult and young adult contemporary fiction and she’s fantastic. Adorkable is one of the best YA contemporary books I’ve read and I highly recommend you start with it and delve into Sarra Manning!

Thank you both for these recs! Which one of these books are already your favourites? Which ones do you think you’ll be adding to your TBR?

As always, don’t forget to enter my giveaway! For more details and a recap of all the previous posts, see here. Good luck!
