Top Ten Tuesday banner

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish to show off our book-related lists.

Every quarter, I do a top ten TBR and every quarter I never stick to my list! I did a lot better on my Fall TBR as I read 3 out of the 10 featured (as compared to my Summer TBR where I shamefully only read one). I’m determined to finish more than three by the time the next TBR Top Ten Tuesday rolls around. As always, these are books that I already own.

New (To Me) Authors

ttt-winter2013-01
I know none of these authors are debuts, but I’ve never read any of their books and these seem a lovely way to start. All of them are review copies from their respective publishers, so thank you!

Sequels

ttt-winter2013-02
As ever, there are loads of sequels I want to read! The follow up to the brilliant The Raven Boys is on the list, as well as Tahereh Mafi’s second in her series which so many people have raved about. But most importantly, as I’ve finished my Goodreads reading challenge for 2013, I can finally read the beast that is A Dance with Dragons! Hey, I waited 6 years, I can wait a bit longer.

A Little Bit Different

ttt-winter2013-03
All these books I’m sure are superbly unique. I’m excited to read Chris Riddell’s pretty illustrated book (the silver foiling in this book is just stunning), and I’m saving Neil Gaiman’s latest. But I think I’m actually most excited about debut author Leslye Walton’s book, which has the best cover I’ve seen this year by far. Gorgeous.

Are any of these on your TBR list? Which books are you most excited to read over Christmas time? Let me know in the comments below!

Leslye Walton's book really has a pretty cover. And and sounds amazing.
I have the fourth Song of Ice and Fire book on my list. Those books are more fun to read in winter imo. Not sure if it's a good idea to put in on my winter tbr though with having to study for exams in January 😀

I need to read Roomies!!! I have it on my kindle, which is why I always forget about it. Out of sight, out of mind I guess! Booooo! I still haven't read The Raven Boys yet!

Did you get my GR messages? Or did they go astray? The site's been behaving very oddly of late…

I've requested "She Is Not Invisible" from NetGalley myself 🙂 no answer yet, but I hope it will come through. I just had 5 approvals in 2 days though, which will take my feedback-to-approval ratio down a fair bit, so I hope it doesn't mean I lose out. It looks like a lovely book.

As far as Chris Riddell's concerned, did you know he's done illustrations for Neil Gaiman before? I got to meet Neil at the Manchester Literature Festival in September – he was lovely, and it's always great to hear an author read their own work as it should be. 🙂

  6. Caitlin says:

We need to have that Roomies buddy read! I definitely want to get hold of She Is Not Invisible; it sounds amazing. The Dream Thieves is awesome and Ava Lavender is so unusual and evocative. You'll love it. Hope you stick to your list 😉

I've never read Neil Gaiman but I really need to read at least one of his books. And I like the cover for the Chris Riddell book! I'll definitely have to check that one out!

  8. Anna says:

I love the nice mix you have going on here. Happy reading!

  9. I really want to read the Shatter Me series, have heard so many wonderful things. Great list! I hope you get to read them all. My TTT.

  10. Alexa Y. says:

Yes, please read Robin Benway's series! They're just fun, entertaining reads and I particularly LOVED the secondary characters. Roomies is one I'm also looking forward to, so we're the same in that. ALSO — Please read The Dream Thieves! It's really, really good and I love how the Gansey & Ronan relationship gets even more developed. Unravel Me was even better than Shatter Me, even though I still wanted to shake Juliette HARD. Happy reading!

HOORAY for The Dream Thieves! That book kind of blew me away.
And Roomies was so good! I hope you love it 😀

  12. What a great mix of books on your winter TBR! I'm hoping to get around to a few of these myself.. particularly Roomies, The Dream Thieve and Dead Ends 🙂
