Ali’s Bucket List
1) Prisoner of Azkaban & Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling:
Ok, I’m cheating here and going for two with my first choice. My favourite Harry Potter book is book 3, Prisoner of Azkaban. So I want to take a ride on Buckbeak the Hippogriff with Harry to go break Sirius out of Hogwarts! This would be amazing.. One of the best potter moments ever! I love Buckbeak! Secondly, in book 7, Deathly Hallows – The Battle for Hogwarts!! I want to be there to fight! I would fight with Luna and Neville and the rest of Dumbledore’s Army. My patronus would be a rabbit! I know there’s a good chance I could get killed but I would like to think I’d go down fighting.. To be there at the end.. would just be.. well, epic!
2) Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien:
I want to go to Bilbo Baggins 111’th birthday party in Hobbiton! I want to see Gandalf’s fireworks. I want to dance with the hobbits and drink their mead and hang with Frodo and the gang. But mainly Samwise Gamgee. Sam is one of my all time favourite literary characters!
3) The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa:
There can be no literary bucket list of mine without including my most favourite YA book boyfriend, Prince Ash of the Winter Court. So my number three would be to visit the world of the Nevernever and, more specifically, go hunting in the Wyldwood with Ash!
4) Black Dagger Brotherhood by J R Ward:
My only ‘adult’ pick goes to a whole series… I can’t pick one particular book. And that’s the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I would like to spend the night in the mansion of the brotherhood. To hang with V and Butch, to play pool with Phury and Rhage.. and obviously, there are ‘other’ advantages to this bucket list choice ;D!!!
5) Across the Universe by Beth Revis:
This actually applies to one of my real life bucket list choices too. I want to go into space! I’m a trekkie… of course I do. So being put into stasis and travelling to a distant planet, like in Across the Universe, would be just… gah.. there are no words!
Daphne’s Bucket List
1) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins:
My favourite and ultimate book boyfriend of recent years has been Peeta Mellark. So yes, for the first thing on my bucket list, I want to bake bread with Peeta! I would admire his strength as he lifts sacks of flour and we could decorate cakes together and of course, eat them. What a fantastic and fattening existence it would be!
2) The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory:
I love English history, especially the Tudor era and the fascinating Henry VII. I’m going to hands down say that he’s my favourite monarch, even with the less than kind way he treated his wives. I would love to be a courtesan in the Tudor Court. I want to be one of Anne Boleyn’s ladies in waiting, as I witnessed first hand the drama and scandal. I would happily wear pretty dresses, sew, read poetry and dance at the fabulous parties, all the while trying to change the fate of a nation’s religious beliefs.
3) The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan:
I get super excited when myths and legends come to life. And what better place to celebrate this by spending a summer at the best demigod camp there is, Camp Half-Blood? I want to be taught by Chiron, bunk with Annabeth, be on the same capture the flag team as Percy and enjoy the smooth ramblings of Mr. D. Even with a few monsters every now and then, still sounds like a good summer to me.
4) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling:
Yes, another bucket list, another Harry Potter reference, but we can’t help that the book series is that good! Book Four is my favourite, for so many reasons. I want to be in the class where Mad-Eye Moody teaches them the Unforgivable Curses (haunting and Mad-Eye is a great professor). I also want to be a champion competing in the Triwizard tournament. Excitement, adventure, glory? Plus, I really want to represent Beauxbatons if only for the amazing uniforms.
5) The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa:
Even though Ali and I have the same taste in books, at least we don’t in book boyfriends! Yes, that is the back cover and that is the incomparable Puck of legend with his awesome smirk. I would love to spend a day with him in the Summer Court or Wyldwood, playing pranks and being on our merry way. Of course, this would have to be after The Iron Knight, so he wouldn’t be all hung up on Meghan!
