Blog Tour, Guest Post, Young Adult / September 24, 2015

Welcome to the Six of Crows blog tour, celebrating this amazing new book set in the same universe as the Grisha Trilogy (Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, Ruin and Rising)! The lovely Leigh Bardugo has done it again, with an incredible heist, gorgeous settings and her trademark excellent characters.

With that in mind, today we are celebrating book boyfriends (and girlfriends) of the Grisha verse, and believe me it wasn’t easy to pick! We have partnered with US blog, Cuddlebuggery, so don’t forget to visit their blog for more book boyfriend goodness. Leigh also shares her picks with us in an exclusive intro and we have an amazing contest where you could win a ton of Six of Crows swag, so read on!

Book Boyfriends (and Girlfriends) of the Grishaverse

Intro by Leigh Bardugo

Thank you so much for hosting the first stop on the Six of Crows blog tour! When it comes to the Grisha Trilogy, readers always ask me, ‘Mal, Nikolai, or the Darkling?’ And my answer is always the same: Tolya. He’s built like The Rock, covered in tattoos, tough, loyal, deadly in a fight, and he loves poetry. Yes, he’s a little bit of a religious fanatic, but in an endearing way.

As for the characters in Six of Crows, I’m going to have to pick Jesper Fahey, Zemeni sharpshooter, for my book bf. He knows how to dress and he once dived head first into a fountain full of champagne. I feel we understand each other. But honestly, though some hide it better than others, each member of Kaz’s crew is carrying around a ton of baggage. They could all kind of use a hug.

Privateer, Prince, basically the best character ever. You only need to read one line he utters to completely fall in love with Sturmhond. Need I say more?

Genya was my first love of the Grishaverse. Gorgeous, confident Genya with a heart of gold. She’s like a silk dress boned with a corset of steel—beautiful and fierce.

A veritable king of thieves, his ruthless, cool exterior hides a damaged man. Forever calculating, Kaz is always trying to suppress his goodness, but it does manage to come out once in a while. He gives me the good shivers.

So sexy and confident, I just want to bask in Nina’s glorious charm and spend the day with her eating exotic foods and luxuriating in red velvet.

Gruff and ruggedly handsome, he’s a man tied to loyalty and discipline. Of course, this makes it even more fun when he loses control…!

Darling Wylan. I love so much his innocence, naivete and his can do attitude. Even though his skills are wildly mismatched, the crew wouldn’t be the same without him!

I love Leigh’s books; I can’t wait to read Six of Crows! Great post and great boyfriends. 😉

  2. SJ Bouquet says:

This review gave me the “good shivers” 😉 … (is that awkward? i feel like that’s awkward.) (also side note: i’ve never been to your blog before, but as a newcomer the first thing i noticed was your super swanky background. It eludes plushness (is that a word? …it is now) You said you wanted to curl up in red velvet and eat exotic foods with Nina, but honestly you could cuddle up in that background pattern)

    Good shivers

I just wanted to say that one more time.

    I’m sorry.

And um yeah, great post. Good stuff ^_^ Can’t wait to read the book!

  5. Natalie says:

Leigh never fails to present us with beautiful, brilliant boys to fawn over in her novels. Going into the Shadow and Bone series, I was definitely not expecting the Darkling to be….well, notoriously attractive. And Mal? Love love love. NIKOLAI IS PERFECT. I cannot wait to meet these new guys!! Great post 😀

  6. Kayla says:

Nikolai hands down, he is hysterical. I will probably like Wylan best from six of crows. I won’t know for sure until I get my hands on it 🙂

  7. Lia says:

My great grandma’s name is Genya! And this post makes me even more excited for SoC! My Grisha boyfriend is Mal (Why does everyone hate him?) but Kaz and Matthias sound awesome too. Will wait and see.

  8. MJ says:

STURMHOUND!!!!! I love those rebellious, and funny male humans!

  9. horcrux-alchemist says:

Nikolai and Matthias. What more can I say? I haven’t read Six of Crows yet but it sounds like I would make him my next favorite character.

  10. Joanna W. says:

I absolutely loved Nikolai, too, in the Grisha trilogy, and Genya and Alina were my favorite females. I can’t say who I’m gonna really gravitate to in Six of Crows, but with multi-male characters I’m sure I’ll have a hard time just picking one boyfriend from the book.

  11. Vivien says:

I can’t pick a favorite!!! GAH! I need this book 😀 Maybe I’ll go with the Darkling 😉

  12. Harrison says:

YES Nina is my everything and I love her so much. I can’t wait to read more of her in the second book!

  13. I loved Nina and I loved Matthias, but Kaz and Inej were my favorite! And Nikolai, poor Nikolai. He needs someone! Leigh sure does have a lot of swoony guys and gals. 🙂

    Thank you!
